Amy's Success Story

Each of us come to a point in our life when we know it is time…time to make “the change”, time to try something different, time to take care of yourself.Amy_before_frame

Amy was definitely in that place when she met Jenny of JCBC Fitness at a networking meeting.  She was feeling a bit down because the home-based business she had worked (and thoroughly enjoyed) for nine years closed their doors unexpectedly!  She made herself go to her monthly network meeting feeling defeated and wondering, “what’s next?" Jenny happened to be visiting that particular meeting and Amy heard her speak about how healthy and strong were the new "skinny,”. She felt that Jenny was speaking directly to her.  Amy accomplished an amazing 35 lb weight loss through hard work and dedication but felt she wanted something more. After meeting Jenny she was ready to take the challenge and try out JCBC Fitness knowing the only workout she had been doing was walking.

After her first class, Amy was thrilled to have joined JCBC Fitness.  "I couldn't believe how much FUN it was!  I loved working with equipment (bands, balls, etc) without being in a sweaty and crowded gym!"  She felt great as she continued to work out with JCBC Fitness and felt her self-confidence rising while gaining strength and endurance.

Amy went to Alaska in September after being with JCBC Fitness for 3 months. She decided to go on an adventure of a lifetime and signed up for zip lining in the mountains of Skagway.  Her adventure included hiking steep inclines since no vehicles could get up the hills.  She had the endurance, strength AND self-confidence to go on this excursion by herself and had a blast mastering the obstacle courses and zip lines all the way down the mountain.  “I could have NEVER done this before boot-camp!” Amy_after_frame

“My self-confidence has dramatically increased!  I did my first 5K in 40 minutes! For someone who NEVER jogged, much less RUN, this was huge for me! For the first time I felt those endorphins people talk about when they exercise and run!  I also can make it through 12 hour work days with energy, feeling good!  Back to work full time after 7 years as been a huge transition.  I know that working out has helped me!  And, even with long days and demanding deadlines I'm making it to class!  It DOES make you feel better!”

“The first step is getting there!  Also, as Jen says, travel...JUST travel!  For some that is running, some jog, some trot and sometimes it means continuing to put one foot in front of the other and not giving up!  I've learned not to compare myself to others in class!  Jen makes us all feel like rock stars!”
